I have a growing fondness for the peplum top.  Particularly those with collars.  Which is why this one is quickly becoming a fall favorite.  I can’t seem to find where to purchase it online (I bought it in store) so here are a few links to other peplum blouses I’ve had my eye on :  1  /  2  /  3

With the shift in season, I always find myself wanting to wear the colors of fall.  Deep berry’s, burnt oranges and earthy browns.  And black of course…..(always black).  But this year, I have a strange love for dark lips.  A few years ago I would have never imagined myself wearing any lipstick color other than a soft pink or a true red.  But I’ve been having fun the last few months experimenting with color.  A few of my favorite shades right now are MAC’S lip pencil in beet, which I wear alone with a gloss, and Nars Lipstick in Scarlet Empress, which I’m wearing in these photos.  What are some of your fall favorites?

I am still looking forward to the day I can wear my scarves and beanies! Another heat wave just rolled in to San Diego.  Ugh.  At least I have San Francisco to look forward to on Thursday!!

It’s hard to believe October has already come and gone!  You know what this means!? Time for Christmas music and gingerbread lattes! haha.  The best time of year.  These are just a few snapshots of our ever so quick October.

Weekend Links –

– Have you heard about the coast to coast challenge on Instagram?  It’s pretty fun. I’ve just jumped on board.  Check it out here.

– Dani took the words right out of my brain in this post: Hello, I’m an Adult.

– One of the cutest little costumes I saw this week.

This pie looks insanely delicious

– So cool to see Decor8 take inspiration from my invitations.  I have read her blog forever and am constantly inspired by her posts.  So fun to see the reverse happen.

– How fun is this handpainted pompom wrapping paper

– If you are a foodie, you’ve probably already heard of Seven Spoons.  But I just discovered it and am so inspired to bake!

….right now in fact!

Have a wonderful weekend!

So we were kind of party poopers last night because we had already spent all our halloween fun over the weekend.  We stayed home, watched Halloween (the obvious choice), and ate most of the candy the trick-or-treaters never came by to claim.  I did however get around to doing an illustration inspired by the holiday (and our costumes).  I am thinking in a few months I will dye my hair this lavender color too! Not permanent of course (I could never commit to such a drastic change).  But I think this ashy purple is such a pretty shade for winter.  I’ve been pinning images like this and this for reference later.  Am I crazy for loving it?  Lucky for me, I have a sister who is willing to experiment with me!  But she is due to have her third baby in a few weeks, so reluctantly, my hair maintenance will have to go elsewhere for the next few months.  *sigh.  But when she is back in business, you (and I) just might be in for a surprise!  Hope you all had a fun, safe Halloween!
