One of my favorite brands – dRA – recently came out with their new Spring Collection and it’s so good! I’m wearing one of my favorites, the Paramount dress. It’s made in the softest woven cotton with black embroidery details. We are planning a family trip to either Mexico or Palm Springs (we haven’t decided yet, recommendations welcome!) in April and this is the perfect piece to pack for a sunny getaway. A few of my other favorites are the Salma Top and Heather Skirt, Hyde Dress, & Montecito Dress.
Today I am running a giveaway with dRA and another local brand, Local & Lejos, who sell beautiful handmade goods from Artisans around the world. I love their rugs and baskets! We are offering up $75 credit to draclothing.com and $75 credit for localandlejos.com! To enter, head to my instagram!
Verdict is out. We are having a baby girl! I didn’t want to “want” something either way, but deep in my heart I was pulling for a girl. Maybe mostly for Rylee, since she has been asking for a baby sister for who knows how long! But also just because it’s always what I pictured having as my last baby. We were on the fence about 3 for so long. Should we….shouldn’t we!? I have always wanted three kids. Sam was just fine with two ;) But knowing our crazy work schedules and the challenges that come with that just having our two kids….we were really wrestling with the idea of adding another one. And before we had the chance to decide, I found out I was pregnant and basically the decision was made for us….which I actually consider a huge blessing! This baby girl was meant to be and we are all pretty excited about her! I know our lives will change but with each baby our lives have changed for the better and I know this one will be no exception. Yes, we are extending our years of sleepless nights and diaper changing….but I am so excited to enjoy this baby phase one last time.
Today is the first day of Spring and I can certainly feel it. I’ve been longing for the sun to come back (it’s been such a gloomy, rainy winter) and it seems like it’s here to stay. My belly (and everything else for that matter) is growing MUCH quicker this time around, and I have a feeling I will be living in flowy dresses all Spring/Summer. I am loving this one by Christy Dawn as a transitional piece into Spring. All of Christy’s dresses are made by local artisans in Downtown LA using deadstock fabric. So each dress is made in limited quantity and with longevity in mind. I have a feeling this one will get some good use this Spring, or at least as long as my belly will fit into it! The fabric and fit is a dream.
Wedding season is just around the corner and I wanted to share with you guys some images from my recent collaboration with BHLDN! I’ve long admired the brand since it’s launch in 2011. If only it was around 2 years prior for my own wedding day in 2009…..planning would have been a whole lot easier! BHLDN offers some of the most beautiful wedding gown options for the bride-to-be, perfectly coordinated dresses for all the bridemaids and mother-of-the-bride, and now a new collection of the sweetest flower girl dresses! Rylee gets to be a flower girl for the very first time this summer in the wedding of a close friend and she is SO excited about it! The dresses she is wearing in these photos couldn’t be more perfect. All of the detailed flower appliques on this Finley Dress make it my favorite of the flower girl collection! Isn’t it beautiful!? It blows my mind how quickly this girl is growing up! Just looking through these photos gets me all emotional! As for me, I am wearing the Cleo Top and Hampton Skirt in the first look. One thing I LOVE about BHLDN is their color choices. They are always so soft and dreamy. I loved the combination of the mink grey top and pecan colored maxi skirt. This is something I’d not only love as a bridesmaid, but also something I could wear separately (or again together) on different occasions. In our second look Rylee is wearing the Casey Dress which is a light cotton eyelet dress perfect for a more casual, possibly beach wedding. And I am wearing the Quince Dress in ‘morning mist’ that has a bit of a 70’s vibe with it’s billowing sleeves and bohemian inspiration. My tiny 18 week baby bump is finally starting to make an appearance so I left off the sash that is meant to tie around the waist so I could show off the bump. I know it’s nothing too impressive yet….but just give me a few weeks. Number 3 is growing awfully fast and apparently my body knows just what to do ;)
